The guy I replied to said he didn’t want to die from overheating since he doesn’t have AC.
I replied and said that they make affordable and easy to install AC now as a direct and immediate solution to his issue of not wanting to die from overheating due to not having AC.
You come along and say this is a bandaid solution and makes things worse. Okay sure, that’s true for society as a whole on a large enough timeline, but not true for this individual person in the near future.
So I interpreted this as you saying you wouldn’t install AC in his shoes, but also don’t appear to have an alternative course of action in order to not overheat and die due to not having AC, therefore you’d be the first to die.
So you’re saying you’d be the first to die lmao
Yeah, the joke is that it would trigger the snowflake right wingers
They make air conditioners that are relatively cheap, pretty easy to install and take up virtually no space these days. Usually wall mounted.
Actually according to the documentary “the Day After Tomorrow,” NY will be the first state underwater from climate change.
There would be challenges, but again, the scenario we are discussing is a world where we literally can’t grow food in the surrounding land.
You can read all about the concept here:
I mean, in the scenario described where we literally can’t grow food in the surrounding land, it’s hard to say what the political landscape or legal institutions even looks like at that point.
it’s not know to cause cancer
I have to laugh at the irony of your comment since this thread is about things we don’t yet know are bad for us.
We have the technology for indoor skyscraper style farming.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone working with fiberglass and not wearing a mask. Do people really do that?
Yeah I switched to all stainless steel clad pots and pans a few years ago to avoid all that shit.
That’s fair. I’d call the last point new commentary more than an argument since he didn’t really provide any evidence that it’s true. /pedantic
This comment is basically just a tl;dr of the OP
It’s because the “fact” the the fossil fuel industry coined the term climate change is false.
This is the preferred term by scientists, and it has been since before “global warming” became a term.
Politicians and publications that acknowledge the climate crisis should probably start using that term instead of climate change then.

Also don’t you get a pop up on iOS when apps actually try to do one of these things? Like I have weather apps that clearly say that track my location, but it still gives a pop up asking to use your location when you actually start using it.
Hopefully that means they’ll start giving me better rates!
Or make them recurring fines that grow exponentially each time they are issued until the situation is fixed.
Edit: nvm it sounds like this is exactly what they are doing.
