Yup. We need a new party, with the goal of overhauling the political system so that we aren’t stuck with Geronocrats nor Turdpublicans. First past the post has led to being forced to choose between a log and diarrhea.

Perhaps not a good one, but still a solution, when a bear gets overly familiar.
Unfortunate. The metal materials of that wall was an excellent donation program to local businesses.
/s…? 🤔
I wish we just played MTG as a national pastime, instead of dealing with Returdblican bullshit.
It is this kind of thing that made me decide to ignore my city’s municipal codes regarding protest gear. It outlaws the wearing of bulletproof vests, helmets, protective visors, hearing protection, gas masks, and so on. To say the least, I cannot respect a law that is designed to permit bullies to injure or kill people who did nothing wrong.
They really aren’t convincing me that there is a moral imperative in NOT shooting them. With each abuse the rightwing afflicts, the less that I consider Republicans to be fellow Americans. Rather, I am starting to view them as irredeemable monsters that must be slain.
The GOP doesn’t understand what will happen to them, their families, and society. We won’t be one people anymore, becoming willing to wage war upon each other. This is a dark and evil timeline, one that could have been avoided if the Republicans were willing to think beyond themselves.
The destiny of our nation will be written in blood, deserved or not.
😞
My take is “plausible deniability”. The sheriffs were delaying their target so that ICE gravy seals can stuff themselves into their KKKop cars and start pursuing their prey.
I bet the parade could have been well executed and vibrant. My guess is that the organizer deliberately botched things when they got word about Dinky Donnie wanting to be the centerpiece. Donald really shouldn’t be an ‘Era’, not the kind to be proud of, at any rate.
Badges should come with a QR code, linked to a government database, profiling official officers. Warrants should also get a QR code, with a justice’s signature, reasoning, and a short list of what activities are permitted by the warrant. The judicial branch controls their own database for the warrants and justices, while the state or federal governments have their own databases for their respective officers.
Also, should these conceptual reforms happen, people should be able to immediately send a copy of the presented warrant and badges to their lawyers and agencies via a QR snapshot.
The plumber a couple weeks ago showed me some pictures of the pipes from the inside. It explains why I needed filter cartridges for my shower, why my sink needed looking at, how come the toilet was losing flushing power, and why the water heater’s recirculator never worked. Turns out, the thing burned out from debris.
This residence totally needs a revamp, well beyond my means. 😒
The pipes in my residence are at least 60 years old, made of metal, and the resulting water tastes a bit suspect. I get water from the grocery store and put it in the water cooler. Costs about $10-20ish for 20 gallons, but probably far safer than what the tap provides.
Replacing all of the pipes would cost $19,000+. 😨
He could have said “This weird obsession with dick sizes”, and it would still be on point.
There is a simple way to eliminate ties: the President’s Justice can have a vote that breaks tied results. Otherwise, their vote is merely a +1. It is only when there is an exact split of votes that it becomes +2.
Anyhow, I don’t think the amount of justices is about representing state population size. It is more about ensuring that there is a variety of minds to consider an issue, and to prevent Federal power from stacking the courts with their preferred type of mindset. The most important thing is to eliminate corruption, as that is the ultimate killer of morality and thoughtful deliberation.
Actually, the whole point of Akumetsu is to make society aware of what is happening. It is basically “drain the swamp”, with a question posed to the public: “Will you pour back in pure water?”
Anyhow, Akumetsu’s theatrics are actually VERY deliberate and coordinated. The nature of the protagonist is wholly different from Light’s modus operandi.
The very presence of armed protestors is inherently disruptive. Police, the KKK, and other enforcers of malice typically don’t engage non-violent protestors when the risk of being harmed themselves is a possibility. Armed protesters are guardians, who simply promise that violence will be met in kind.
Unfortunately, there are many “moderate” members among peaceful protesters who can only think in binary: There is either peace or violence, and being armed defaults to full-on violence in their eyes. Personally, I am of the opinion that such a position is worse than useless when demanding for peaceful reform.
If you cannot retaliate against the opposition if they decide to use force, they have no incentive to negotiate. Those who enjoy power only respects power. Purely peaceful protest movements that drive out those willing to bear arms from the cause, will result in two things:
1: Less unity and power for the movement.
2: Reduced ability to lay out rules of engagement for armed members of the movement, because the armed and unarmed wings of the reform movement don’t interact.
It is very important for peaceful and defiant wings of reform to cooperate, not to be isolated. Without both wings, the movement cannot fly.
I think peaceful protesters should encourage armed protestors as a form of disruptive protest, but with rules of engagement as a requirement. It simply boils down to: “Don’t shoot first.” That is a fair and reasonable rule that can be easily observed, that protects both protestors and police. Of course, if police choose to riot, they should get their own bitter medicine in return.
When police are running down people with horses, vans, batons, smoke, and bullets, they shouldn’t have a monopoly on the violence.
My city’s municipal code forbids dangerous items…like helmets, armor, gas masks, impact masks, social distancing masks, disguise masks, shields, umbrellas, signs that are durable enough to protect against inclement conditions, and more. To say the least, I decided to just abandon the notion of law concerning such things.
These rules are plainly designed to favor bullies. I can understand (reciprocal) restrictions on firearms, but you can’t tell me that eye protection or ballistic armor isn’t a good thing for peaceful protest. A reporter got shot by a fucker in the back, for having the temerity of doing her job!
The supreme court system as we know it needs to be replaced outright. I think that term and age limits (10 years, age 60), plus each state popularly electing 1 supreme justice to represent them, would be the right way to go. The president can elect a justice to represent their administration, who is replaced by the next president’s pick. Also, a ban on gifts of any shape. No more motorcoaches!
This would make it much harder for justices to become politically captured, or culturally out of touch.
The most amazing thing is that he actually gave a damn about his people and nation. Can’t say I ever really felt that with any president during my life.
I think the destiny of the Geronocrats is all but sealed.
