Statute of limitations??
Just another Reddit refugee
Statute of limitations??
Honestly, this would be a non-issue if we could block instances at the user level. Since they’re not federated yet, and User-level instance blocking should be coming, I say we wait and see.
A big problem with this is that since 2016 the bots and hired commenters have thoroughly poisoned the intellectual well. What used to be considered extreme in 2016 was so artificially boosted that now real people have completely bought into the bullshit.
I wonder if you could guesstimate based on ad-buys - cost, interactions, etc.
Kbin has this ability, but Lemmy does not (yet).
Sounds like a good argument for homeschooling to me.
Unless you want to be a part of a curated safe-space you’re not missing anything. If you do want to be part of something like that, we’ll then you’ll need to reapply and sell yourself harder.
More like Rom.
If you’re just getting into Trek, start with TNG season 3. Follow that up either with TNG seasons 1 & 2, or jump into Voyager.
For a darker Trek, watch DS9 - but be aware the first few seasons are very uneven and it gets a LOT better. It’s arguably the best of all the Trek series and well worth the investment to get past the first few seasons.
Enterprise was ok. It’s held up well, except for the theme song which was always trash. Don’t watch the series finale - just, don’t.
For the new series, SNW is the best of the live action bunch. Picard S1 and S2 are steaming piles while S3 was enjoyable and what S1 should have been. I personally enjoyed S1 and S2 of Discovery, while everything past that was truly terrible IMO. Prodigy was really good, if you can get past that it’s geared towards kids (which is obvious from time to time).
You’ve already enjoyed Lower Decks, so 👍
Another vote for UniFi gear. I administer four homes for myself and my family, three of them all use UniFi equipment (and the fourth will next time I get over there, it’s in another country).
This seems like a heavy handed mod overreach that we are trying to escape on Reddit
It’s the same mods (or so I’ve been told).
Three wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.
Yes and no? Maybe? I’m still figuring out how all this works lol. I know that instances take on the load of their users and communities.
It’s gotta start somewhere though. It makes sense that as refugees flock over they’ll gravitate towards the largest instance, because the expectation is that’s where the usage is and they don’t yet grok how the Fediverse works. As they settle in, I’d expect a number of them to spread out a bit. Once we can migrate accounts I’d expect the load to be distributed even better.
How? I was able to get subscribed to [email protected] and [email protected] once they showed up in the community search (after searching by the url), but I still can’t see [email protected] in order to subscribe to it.
Same. Lots of growing pains! That’s ok though, it’ll all get sorted. And a silver lining might be that these growing pains help filter out the low-effort riff-raff maybe.
Good to know it’s not just me, thanks
So piracy is a civil crime, not a criminal one? Awww 😩 All this time I thought I was cooler than I really am. (Sad arrr noises)
