2·1 month agoI’m sorry, I see this sort of rhetoric a lot and it’s understandable, but it’s also wrong. The U.S. fundamentally protects voter rights because of their constitution (in a similar way that gun ownership is hard to restrict) and this means there’s multiple levels of enforcement. Voter fraud and accusations of such from the both the left and right are fairly baseless and frankly ideological. While it might seem like craziness, saying the current state of affairs is undemocratic at best leads to backslide (like in this Arab country) and at worst tankie-style abolition of all rights.

215·1 month agoAs much as we can and should critique unethical practices in international business, they made a personal decision vis-a-vis purchasing land for development. I have little trust in the NGO industrial complex to accurately surmise what’s going on. The oversight needs oversight.

Democracy is about having a choice, not about being picky. If you’re from a place that’s had to fight for it and work between both of those parties you would know.
