Caught these guys a few years back in a tiny venue in Reading with Hoobastank and POD, nostalgia overload! So glad they’re still going, love AAF. “These Days” is still a daily-driver for me.
Anyone wondering why they dropped off the map at the peak of their popularity, their tourbus crashed and their vocalist, Dryden broke his neck, taking years to recover, really sad :(
Exactly, this’ll limit the exposure to them in things you wouldn’t expect them to be on/in. You can avoid Teflon pans and go iron or steel but the amount of stuff coated in PFAS is ridiculous. Hell, even sofas, rugs, blinds, etc all sorts of stuff. And before anyone says “you don’t eat that stuff”, try telling my toddlers that! I bought a black milk frothing jug for my espresso machine. The black coating? Teflon. Not mentioned anywhere, not even marketed as non-stick.
Same, recently got my 20 year Steam badge. I can feel my body aging around me.
I’ll have you know that I wrote a semi-functional webpage in HTML when I was in college 😎
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been exhausted and later discovered I put the milk by the coffee machine and the coffee in the fridge. Same premise, slightly less terrible outcome.
I recommend the app “Just Watch”. Pump in whatever you wanna watch and it’ll tell you what services it’s available to stream on. If none, hoist the flag, amigo!
I’m not normally a fan of this style of art and such but, hot damn, these are absolutely incredible.
Part of me wonders; was this their plan all along? Everyone knows that people are having fewer kids and there’s a real problem that the old will outnumber the young and we won’t be able to support the elderly population. So, is the GOP’s plan to just force people to have kids against their will as a way to mitigate that?
I consider my body to be a meat puppet. Maybe I’m one of those lil MIB dudes
The only bad thing about Ethernet cables is that they’re shaped like a goddamn grappling hook. If I wanna pull an Ethernet cable through my desk, I must understand that every other cable in its path is coming with it.
I’m using Memmy on iPhone and it’s awesome, very similar to Apollo. Custom gestures, themes, hide read posts, etc. Can’t recommend it enough to my iOS homies
I tried to get into Usenet but I’m old and unable to learn new tricks. I just looked at EasyNews and it’s $9.99 pm for 20GB :| so, like, a single 4K movie with Atmos. I don’t understand the allure of UseNet, perhaps because I am a dumb.
I second this, I love my Apple TV. Blazingly fast and stable and the extra features are amazing. Bought a new sound bar the other day, held my iPhone up and it perfectly configured audio latency. The TV itself had trouble communicating with the sound bar over CEC so I told the Apple TV to learn the volume controls from the sound bar remote, took 10 seconds. When I got my TV, the AppleTV used the camera on my phone to configure the picture settings for most accurate colour reproduction. Added a couple notches of saturation because it’s my personal preference, done.
It plays everything I’ve thrown at it via Plex and Jellyfin, no issues. I also have Moonlight for streaming games from my PC via NVidia game stream and Steam Link for whenever Gamestream shits the bed. Just paired up an Xbox controller to the Apple TV, job done.
Oh, and TV OS 17 just came out and added third party VPN support, so if you do have Netflix or whatever, you can change region using a VPN.
I’m not an Apple fan boy but the Apple TV just works and if you already have a modern-ish iPhone (mine’s a 12), it makes it so much better.
Diagnosed at 25, Tis hella lame. There are days that I genuinely wanna cut my right big toe off because it hurts so much.
It’s not hopeless though. I started eating healthy, taking glucosamine and cod liver oil, vitamin supplements, drinking plenty of water and the pain has decreased a LOT. Inflammation is a removed and avoiding foods and drinks that aggravate it seems to help a lot, at least for me. It’s not an overnight thing but a couple months down the road, you might go “Huh, I’ve not been as shitty and depressed lately. Oh, I’ve not been in agony as much!”.
Just my experience, may be worth a go, can’t hurt! Not more than it currently does anyway, haha. Oh, get comfy-ass shoes too. Got me some Nike airs for going out and I would die without them! OH, and check out a 5 minute morning stretch routine. I thought yoga was bull until I was in so much pain I’d try anything and it really did help, just in general with back pain and stuff.
Good luck, try to stay positive and manage the pain the best you can. Find what works for you and things will get better :)
Oh hey, we appreciating Memmy over here?
Seconded, Puppy is super lightweight and easy to get on with, definitely worth a try.
