Vinegar is a Safari extension for iOS that turns the YouTube media player into a generic iOS one, completely bypassing all of these restrictions. I’m not savvy enough to know if it’s something Google can kill or not, but it’s working great for me right now. Even lets you do PiP and background play.
Second this one. Absolutely bangin OST as well.
As a guy who has a lot of experience with old emulated Nintendo games and things like that, I keep a bunch of ROMs on a cloud storage service for backup. But all those files add up and eat storage space. For a service like this, do you just have the installers themselves stored for easy installing/uninstalling? How big are those files, for storage purposes? I have a lot of PC games, but, you know, I don’t like paying for all of them. Are you able to have tons of “alternative” Steam games or does storage space run out quick?
I keep telling this to people and nobody gets it
Anybody on this thread on iOS, check out Vinegar. It’s a Safari extension for YouTube that converts the YT media player to a generic iOS one, removing ads and allowing PiP and other stuff. Best 2-ish bucks I’ve ever spent.
I’m a pilot, certified flight instructor. Not professionally techy, but like techy stuff as a nerdy pastime. Lemmy’s honestly not that complicated, you just need to be willing to put up with the bugs and growing pains. I’m enjoying the ride so far!
What I find when I follow tags is that my feed is now totally flooded with hundreds of new toots every time I log in - how do you deal with this? It’s way too much for me to ever go through and get anything meaningful out of it.

Absolutely, certainly not a precedent, but always a good reminder. It’s a bummer we have absolutely no control over these things beyond making/installing mods ourselves to fix their issues.
They call them “toots” AFAIK.
I’m with you. Signed up for Mastodon months ago when Twitter lost me the same way Reddit has. I’m acclimating to using tags to find content I’m interested in, but now the posts that do show up related to my interests have next to zero engagement, making it hard to want to engage myself. At least it’s pretty good for gaming news and stuff like that.
It’s on TestFlight if that works for you.

Not aware of one personally, but my MO has been to just find the one I’m looking for with the most active users and go for it.
Been using Delta via AltStore for a couple years now, never heard of these options! You consider these better than those?
