The only game I really play is Call of Duty, which will not currently run on Linux.
The traffic between the VPN and the target site is anonymous because most VPN’s use a rotating IP system. If the VPN truly doesn’t collect any data, the target site has no clue who is actually visiting other than that randomized IP address.
The point is, VPN’s do work and the biggest caveat is finding a VPN provider that you can trust.
I use Mullvad. You don’t have to give them any personal information at all.
I went to Windows 11 last week using the BYPASSNRO method. I really only use my PC for gaming, and I’ve noticed a lot more freezing in Steam than with Windows 10.
I’m moving back to 10 as we speak.
I agree with Gavin Newsome.
Apparently, attempting to have a conversation about it here is also offensive to moderation. If you even question trans people or the trans community, you’re immediately moderated.
And they say Lemmy is an alternative to Reddit. 🙄
Is it as secure as it claims?
Without a third party audit, we’ll never know.
I’ve never had an issue pirating anything with Mullvad.
I used it temporarily and didn’t notice anything. I left to use a custom domain, which they don’t support.
I don’t think many people here use Brave Browser because of their crypto referral program, but they’ve made strides at mitigating fingerprinting. I use Brave Browser on my PC and Android and never had an issue.
Is that what you do here? You can’t have a conversation and just threaten a ban when having a civil conversation? You can see from my post history that I’ve been nothing but cordial in any discussion I have. If banning someone during a civil conversation is your “win”, then go ahead.
If you don’t have a VPN, it’s time to fire one up. I’d suggest Mullvad or Windscribe.
That’s the best free option, and possibly best option overall. I’ve been with them for about five years now and it’s been great.
While we have a presidential cabinet doing their best to get rid of any department maintaining these viruses. . . I’m not blaming them for the outbreak, but I will blame them when it becomes a frequent issue across the country again.
Sure, I concede. I don’t think of Linux because I don’t use it often, but I understand.
VLC may go down as the greatest FOSS product in history. They’ve stated their mission since the beginning and 20 years later, are still flying that route. It’s unbelievable how much money they’ve turned down to remain on their original mission.
I never stated they had no merit. What I did state was that they should be endorsed based on their merit and not a headline pushing them because of their transition.
I’d be willing to bet that most trans would rather be known by their merit and not clouted in a headline based on their transition.
I’d assume Sweden after the Swedish government stated they wanted backdoor access to Signal.
I’ve been torrenting with them in the past. I’ve since moved to Mullvad, but Windscribe didn’t have a problem with it about three months ago.
