Please tell me part of the prompt was “hands out of frame”. It’s a whole new world.
I pre-ordered an X1L the first day, along with an E07x 519a and a T1R, then offered in a 5050 Yinding emitter which got changed to the new FFL505A before shipping.
I already have a NOV-Mu from last year, didn’t see a need to get the new one. Also skipped the X1S, I don’t really care about pocket throwers and only got the T1R because the Yinding emitter sounded interesting, then stuck it out to see what was up with the FFL505A.
I also snagged a couple more E12r (making a total of 4 that I own). Known quantities that I really enjoy, that I expect will never be seen again.
The E07x Canon is very well built and sustains like nobody’s business, but unfortunately the beam suffers a bit once you dedome the emitters. Apparently the optic sits a bit high for domeless emitters, some have been sanding down the shelf that holds the optic in place. Not a huge thing, but a step backwards from the previous generation. Admittedly I’m super picky that way.
The T1R with the new emitter is lots of concentrated pink. Some will think it’s great, others like me will find it a bit much. Seems to be a little better in the X1S.
I have high hopes for the X1L. The Zeroair review shows somewhat disappointing output compared to expectations, but the white wall beamshots appear immaculate, and that’s a priority for me. And I am a huge admirer of the work Loneoceans has done designing the past couple generations of drivers.
The problem is, why would they let you buy it outright when they can rent it to you by way of a subscription?
I don’t think even Christopher Nolan can stop this level of greed, that wants us to pay monthly for a fleeting second rate experience.
Groovy meme, man.
Tough. I jacket-pocket-carry a Fireflies E07 2021 (non-pro) and it gets pulled out often briefly at work, but I have another Fireflies light sitting by my front door (E12R) that gets used 3 or 4 times daily for dog walks after dark and moving sprinklers around at night in the summer.
Most hours award goes to a D4Sv2 in my kitchen, it ceiling-bounces for 30 minutes every morning before dawn while I make coffee, feed the dog, make lunch etc. I just recently swapped out a tint-ramper with SST-20 2700k/4000k for a single channel with a boost driver and three 2700k with single 4000k. Good call for this usage, the boost driver lets it sit at top of ramp for said 30 minutes and barely get warm.
Not sure trying to attract people and lowering barriers to entry is the best thing to do at this point. We’ll have the same dearth of quality content and more n00bs to get bored and post memes.
The slow, hard road is the way. Post stuff. High effort stuff. Respond, don’t just upvote. Make this place worth signing up for.
Looks to me like the Wuben A1. That’s a $900 light with four SBT90.2 emitters, hits 20,000 lumens and throws for a mile and a half at turn-on in turbo.
Oh and the battery pack hold eight 21700 batteries.
I’m the same way, nothing but black or gray with different buttons to tell them apart.
Doctor Herbert West is peak Jeffrey Combs and I will die on this hill (having seen none of his work in proper theater).
Web 3.1 for Workgroups?
Yeah I’m sure there are plenty of people who have the sense to think it through like you did, it’s just that I encounter the other type a couple times a week and felt like bitching about it.
Back-in-only spaces with the arrows pointed accordingly is sounding more and more like a superior solution.
Lots of people with sound, logical explanations of why it’s better and easier but nobody talking about, with the common angled parking lots these days, how you then end up pulling out the opposite direction of everyone else and going the wrong way down a one way lane or doing a u-turn and basically fucking everything up for anyone else.
Daily. Work in a warehouse that has a few dark corners, repair equipment that I want to see better. At home I do things like move sprinklers around after dark or take the trash out to the can at the alley, also keep a light at my nightstand if I need to get up late at night. Have a warm light for making coffee in the winter months when I need to get ready for work before dawn.
I suppose the “best” way would be to distribute the big communities over different instances, like one instance gets “pics”, another gets “memes”, someone else gets “news”, etc. But of course that will never happen.
My biggest problem is how they’ve become seemingly hostile toward people who remember how customizable Firefox was, and just want to revert the most annoying UI changes. Not only removing options from the menus, but then after workarounds surface actually going in later and stripping useful stuff out of about:config. Don’t understand.
Was so tempted to get an LT1S Pro just for Anduril, but honestly I like the original emitters a lot. Couple of great snags for sure 👍
I totally remember choosing not to bother with this one because the first one was perfect.
