Zen’s compact mode hides the toolbar and sidebar until you mouseover their areas. I just have the webpage effectively fullscreen all the time. I now get unreasonably annoyed by the fact that other browsers won’t let me do the same.

I’d include one for the toolbar but an unrelated app keeps interfering with my screenshot for it.

Again, I completely get that I’m being fussy but I just love compact mode (I believe it also works in horizontal tab mode but prefer vertical tabs).

I tried setting up Floorp to how you described your preference in your post, and I think it’s doable! If you untick the browser manager sidebar box, that makes it go away and you can use the top bar in peace.

I put Mint on my mother’s computer because the constant pop-ups from Windows were confusing her constantly. No issues, I just put a big icon that says INTERNET on the desktop and she’s fine now. If anything goes wrong, I’m not savvy enough to easily fix it but I know that at least I can just do a reinstall if something breaks beyond my ability to handle.
