Bullets, even from small handguns, travel a very long distance very fast until they hit something. This is exceptionally negligent. It doesn’t matter how many bystanders there were. The most common round used in handguns is a 9mm, and it travels at upwards of 1300 feet per second and can travel for miles. No one’s life was in immediate danger, there was no reason to discharge a firearm in public. I’ve owned guns all my life and it’s negligent things like this that make responsible owners and competent police look bad.

But their charge was WITH them. There was no immediate danger. If you’re worried about the vehicle being tampered with, you call in another one. You don’t open fire in the vicinity of a market on a Sunday. Unless something inside that vehicle is a matter of national security or someone was in it, there is zero justification for opening fire. I say this as a lifelong gun owner, this is exceptionally negligent. You do not discharge your weapon at someone, especially in public, unless there are lives in danger, especially in a populated area where you do not know who or what are further down range.

Are we not acknowledging that an agent opened fire on people for breaking into a vehicle? There’s no danger to anyone’s life yet a Secret Service agent just opens fire in public where, based on the article, there were likely hundreds of other citizens around shopping.

Yes, I go to restaurants every so often, and I always tip and tip well. I refuse to punish the workers for the broken system. That doesn’t degrade my argument that they should be paid a living wage instead of having to rely on tips at all.

When I say customers should not feel ashamed or obligated to tip, I mean that the system should change in such a way that tips are not expected and workers are paid a living wage. The system is not currently like that, we get that. Snapping back at me over the way the system IS when we both agree on how it should be is being intentionally argumentative for no reason.

I said living wage, homie, not minimum wage. I think everyone should be paid at least a living wage, I just said tipping in general isn’t bad - it just shouldn’t be used to supplement poor wages.

There’s nothing wrong with tipping. I like the option to reward someone who made my experience great. Keyword there is option. Employers should pay employees a living wage, and if customers want to reward a great job with a few bucks on top of that, that should be allowed, even encouraged, but should never feel obligated to tip or shamed for not tipping.

I switched from Spotify because their personalized mixes and radio stations stopped letting you thumbs down songs. I got sick of hearing the exact same crap on my mixes. And no matter how many times I fucking skipped it, my metal mix would always play Mother by Danzig early in the playlist. No matter what I actually listened to, my “personalized” mixes always had the same crap on it. Thumbs down a song on a mix or radio on YT Music? It goes away forever.

I did that. There were no options, just a dialogue saying they had refunded me a couple dollars for a price mismatch. But no button to report an issue on the app or web, no chat, no email or phone number. Just a Contact Us form that I filled out and submitted with all the information nearly a month ago, and no one from GrubHub has reached out. I finally just did a chargeback a couple days ago.

Yeah, let me know how to get GrubHub to even respond to a support request for an order that never arrived, much less refund me and then you can tell me GrubHub is better. I had an order that was never delivered on Sept 23 and GrubHub has still not responded to or refunded me. At least with Doordash or UberEats I can get issues with my order addressed almost immediately.

I agree with what you’re saying for the most part, but for a population the size of Australia with 1000 respondents, a 99% confidence level has a margin of error of 4% which is perfectly acceptable. Unless the survey targeted very specific demographics versus a random sample, it should be very accurate.

I don’t see any evidence supporting this, but I also don’t recall ever seeing reruns in the US.

I’d tend to disagree that MAGA people haven’t had a hard life. Many have been stuck in a cycle of poverty (of arguably their own creation by voting for politicians that lie to and exploit them) for generations, and MAGA talking points speak right to their frustration. Cults in general seek out vulnerable individuals and exploit that to their own means. MAGA politicians continue the cycle while blaming liberal policies, so they’re just reinforcing the Republican lie to a new generation of voters.

Fawkes wanted to bring down the Church of England fascist monarchy in order to replace it with a Catholic fascist state. It’s the equivalent of a Sunni terrorist group trying to overthrow a Shiite government and replace it with their own. He’s a terrorist, not a hero.

Now V on the other hand, was a great role model…one second, I’m being told V was also a domestic terrorist who murdered anyone who disagreed with him.
