I actually used pipx to get yt-dlp into Termux.

1. Installed python and python-pip via pkg install python python-pip
2. Installed pipx via pip install pipx
3. Finally installed yt-dlp via pipx install yt-dlp

At least that’s how it worked for me

Using Termux you can get yt-dlp installed and running on Android

Sure do but unless Google gets really hurt (like 40% of their income) they’ll take the slap on their wrist change it a bit and continue on.

Firefox makes most of it’s income (to pay staff and whatnot) is coming straight from Google. Why? So (IMHO) Google can go up to curt and say “Well we aren’t a monopole. Firefox is there and we even pay them”.

Google could just stop paying them at any time, they’ve got that biggest slice of the browser cake after all.

My guess is because it’s not the original developer for the app. So they are still figuring things out on how to transition the app to Lemmy.

But I have no doubt they’ll get there :)
