really rad build log and project, what a fun read~
hi, i’m june! i’m a 30 year old femme enby lesbian who makes art, and i’m here to be a big heckin’ nerd~
really rad build log and project, what a fun read~
you can always try a puppy distro! they’re super barebones and you can get them really lightweight, shouldn’t really have any problems with running something like one of the slackware-based pups or maybe an older debian pup. you can check it out here! https://forum.puppylinux.com/puppy-linux-collection
i’ve seen a few of her videos now, and they all seem to be high quality like this one. good stuff!
while i find the colours you chose appealing, a bunch of the font colours are too close to stand out well over their backgrounds? there are a few that are genuinely hard to read-- some better contrast would help a lot also, the vertical column is a bit weird to follow? like, what’s the process of going down after being asked about windows versions to get to gaming preference? it’s a weird way to have the path work. even if you just put something like “i don’t particularly care about windows” as the third option would help a little, i think?
sorry that’s mostly about your graphic, and not the actual recommendations, lol
ooo i can’t wait for more attempts at owning everyone’s ideas x.x
unfortunate to see, it’s been a great app for a long time. Anyone know of an alternative that’s good? I mostly just read on mobile through firefox on mangafire now, but would love if an app offered a better experience
woah, thanks for letting me know! i’ll see if i can get it to do what i need it to now :3
Google’s gmail app recently started showing ads in the inbox alongside messages, really gross stuff
Wait is that what im forgetting to do? Dangit
For whatever reason, when i tried to fresh install lmde 6 two weeks ago, it absolutely refused to set up grub properly for me. Something in the installation just refused to work, despite reformatting and setting up partitions in both the automatic and manual configurations. Hopefully other new users have a smoother time than i did?
I use an instance that runs a fork of firefish, and it’s awesome! The standard firefish experience is just a bit more appealing to me than mastodon
So! I tried to mess with Scribus a little bit today. I don’t like that margin and bleed management is only available from the Document Settings window, which can only be open its own window and not docked in the main window. It also isn’t really convenient to adjust the margin sizes and have the image fit to it, though it can definitely be done.
My biggest issue seems to be that there’s not a noticeable feature for ICC profile colour management? Unless that’s simply labelled something different than what i’m used to. I’m also not sure where to actually keep an ICC profile on linux, for what it’s worth. Looks like i might need something like Argyll Colour Management?
Edit: looks like at least on Mint with colourd, icc profiles get stored in: /usr/share/color/icc
Edit2: Looks like there is colour profile management, it just isn’t nearly as streamlined as i’m used to. i’ll have to do some test prints to see if quality is alright.
It’s a galaxy S20 FE, but the SM-G781W specifically
Last i checked on xda dev forums it was an exception to the bootloader unlocks
Yeah, I didn’t look into it beforehand because i was naive and my previous devices were unlocked so i assumed this would be the same. And it’s even more frustrating because while this phone in other regions is unlocked, specifically my canadian model is locked. I won’t be getting another phone any time soon, but yeah, ill be more careful in the future. Just sucks that manufacturers still do this sporadically
Eh, not all android devices, unfortunately. Mine does not have the ability to unlock the bootloader. ;c
I do think a lot of it comes from the printer hardware, and scribus does seem to be more useful than i initially got from its writeup! Ill be testing it out some more on both of my OSs, to see if i do lose anything and if i can compensate for it like you say. Thanks for your response :3
I downloaded this the other day, actually! still have to play some more with the printing functionality, it just felt like it was much more purpose-built for typesetting and design. But will be giving it a closer look, thanks :3
I have a really hard time absorbing people speaking when i’m not interacting with them, and being understimulated and not knowing what to do with my hands when i am able to focus on audiobooks. I want to love them and podcasts, but they just aren’t it for me D:
I’m glad they work so well for you and others, though!!
is that a thing that it can bork? should be able to just clear cmos or replace the battery, no? or if the mosfet itself is dead, isn’t that just a hardware fault, not an os issue?
damn, working too hard to notice the error in the second sentence :p
