But the reason this works is that even once you clear out those trash files, the OS usually only removes the pointer to where the data lives on the disk, and the disk space itself isn’t overwritten until it’s needed to save another file. This is why these tools have a much higher chance of success sooner after file deletion.
Yes, I love my aeropress!! With enough dialing in I can usually make a better cup of coffee with a pourover setup that better expresses the differences of specific beans. But the aeropress makes a darn good cup of coffee every time without going through all that hassle. I use mine almost daily.
Yep, that’s exactly it. I’ve used DoubleTap a bit and it picks up my taps very reliably, but it’s of course much more limited in what it can control. Tbh my main use case is for stopping timers while I have my hands busy cooking, and it works brilliantly for that.
I’m also curious whether AssistiveTouch uses the onboard ML now. It would make a lot of sense since Siri does, but I haven’t seen anything saying one way or the other and haven’t compared the performance between models.
Double Tap specifically leverages the new models’ on-device ML processing capabilities, which requires the new chip. I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve also read that Assistive Touch is both less consistent/accurate and burns through more battery.
I do sometimes “provide feedback” on terrible featured snippets, but goddamn does it feel like shouting into a void.

Late to the watch party, but I agree with this.
My reading was that Boimler’s slip-up and the knowledge that she wouldn’t be a significant part of Spock’s life (at least viewed from a historical perspective) was what caused Chapel to pull away from Spock, and end up sabotaging the relationship. But tragically - time-travel shenanigans and all that - who’s to say whether or not that’s the way things were always going to happen?
The opportunity the fellowship provides allows her to envision a positive, worthwhile future for herself, where she is free from the boundaries she’d previously imagined, and can let go of her disappointment that the path she yearned to travel with Spock was one she wasn’t destined for.

How is the OSX and iOS support for Keepass nowadays? Are there desktop and browser clients for OSX, and what’s the autofill situation like?
Keepass was the first password manager I used and I really liked it, but I had to switch when I started using Apple devices for work a few years back, and the lack of platform support there was a nonstarter.

If you want to watch more ToS, you can similarly cherry-pick your watch list there, as there are some stand-out episodes. I’d definitely recommend at least watching The Menagerie for context before SNW (or Captain Pike’s appearance in Discovery).
DS9 is some of the very best of Trek, but you’re going to want to actually watch it through; it’s got much larger story arcs and character development than ToS, TNG, and Voyager. It takes a couple of seasons to really pick up, but is well worth it. If you’re not ready to sit through that many subsequent episodes yet, you can wait until you have a better feel for the series. But don’t sleep on this one, it’s fantastic.
Those are my highlights for earlier Trek, but you can’t really go wrong as long as you’re enjoying what you’re watching!
TNG is, imo, the gold standard and an excellent starting point if you’re not looking to jump straight into Strange New Worlds. Its episodes are generally pretty self-contained, so you won’t be punished terribly for jumping around if you’re just looking to get a taste, and will still be able to enjoy the great episodes it has to offer, but you will get more context the more episodes you’re willing to watch.
Plenty of folks have compiled lists of which episodes are skippable vs worth watching, and there’s pretty universal agreement on which are iconic must-watch episodes, so there’s nothing wrong with following one of those for a first watch. Here’s an example. I’d recommend using the list at the bottom of that page (or another rated list) as a guide, and experiment a bit to figure out a good baseline for how low of a rating is acceptable and how many episodes you can tolerate in your first watch through.
Note that season 1 is widely regarded as the weakest, where the show is trying to emulate ToS and hasn’t yet come into its own, and you can skip episodes more liberally here, or even come back to it later.
