Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Recommend EU webhosting provider to replace DreamHost?English
2·10 months agoOVH in France.
Get ventoy on a USB Stick, throw some iso on it and boot and try and boot and try and boot and try…
This hardware problem could have been happening with every other Synology NAS too… It’s not the N100 fault.
I tried unraid and really wanted to like it, but it’s just not my type of OS. I felt too restricted and so I went with pure Debian.
It works for me! I have a german account with YouTube family prem sub through Peru.
Get a cheap (Argentina, Egypt, Ghana, India, Ecuador) premium… There are dozens of instructions on how to get it through a VPN.

Games@lemmy.world•Do you have any recommendations for casual games?English
41·1 year agoSounds like you’re ready for the wonderful universe of TBS games (Turn Based Strategy). There a soo many sub genres but you can filter the steam shop for turn-based and read reviews and recommendations. Some personal highlights:
- Civilization (5 and 6)
- Heroes of Might and Magic (get HoMM 3 on GOG!)
- Old World
- Battle Brothers
- Dorfromantik
- Magic: The Gathering Arena
- RimWorld (with pause)
- Cities Skylines 2 (not rly TBS but you can pause)
- For The King
- Total War: Warhammer III (I do auto battles)
- Wartales
- The Last Spell
- Stoneshard
- Age of Wonders 4
- Mechabellum (semi TBS)

Games@lemmy.world•Are there games with real collision detection?English
2·1 year agoThx for your answer. Sounds logic and plausible and I didn’t thought about the effort for the actual physics calculations.

Games@lemmy.world•Are there games with real collision detection?English
21·1 year agoMaybe you’re right. So, IMHO, there seems to be a niche for a game with a sweet spot between accurate physics and fun?

3·1 year agoOvergrowth looks… too goofy, I guess. But it seems like no dev caught the sweet spot between accuracy and fun?

Been gaming on EndeavourOS since about 2 years. Tried Bazzite and CachyOS lately but came back to EndeavourOS.
