I didn’t, I hadn’t written code before that.

I didn’t, I hadn’t written code before that.

I use Forgejo which is either forked from or built on Gitea
Super easy to set up it was a docker container and a cloudflared tunnel.

Solid chance he gets Picarded

Is Harrison Ford in it?
If no then I’ll watch it. Not that he’s a bad actor but because I hate member berries and geezer teezers

I was about to dismiss this on clickbait title alone, but sure enough my university library doesn’t have anything referencing Holodomor before 1991 which is 60 years after the incident.
I thought this was gonna be a
“History the Historians don’t want you to know!”
[Insert massive corpus of historians doing history on this]
But considering this is still mostly work from post wall falling. I imagine that’s why we know anything about it at all in the west.

Anyone check on Ben Garrison lately?
Has he recovered from being just as good as AI in making sexualized pro maga slop?
You don’t understand. Phone screens are a lot smaller so you need less code to run them.
Have you even considered how greedy you are wanting to use up so many tokens?

Just like the thorn thing, we’re gonna hinder the disabled before we hinder the bots
I don’t feel like that works cause that’s ki da cool actually

I want to believe a kid isn’t so dumb, but its also possible a boy see it and goes
“Oh wouldn’t it be funny to act like this to my crush?”
Which just reinforces the whole cycle.

Saved you a click: No.
The realities of consumer robotics is the limitation of consumer motors. No humanoid Robot, no matter how good the training data, is ever going to come close to human speed, dexterity, and importantly our versatility.
This has been obvious with ever single humanoid robot soccer game, mma, and dance competition from ever single highly advanced robotics research group. And those aren’t “cheap” consumer bots. Those are bespoke bots with a singular job.
We should stop trying to hype up Jetson ass maid robots. They only exist in Asimov’s dreams.
Also legitimately, hiring a human maid once a week for an hour for like $50-$100 is the correct answer if you’re set on not folding your lay dry and you haven’t accepted the permanent pile.

I mentioned this in another thread, but if Linus starts acknowledging the ethical questions of where good code is coming from, things unravel fast. Microsoft is a major contributor. So are plenty of defense, oil, industrial prison complex, etc. Someone overtly evil is contributing code.
Further just the pure tech industry isn’t free from sin, Intel and AMD contribute lots to the Kernel and they certainly utilize slave or child labor at some point in chip production.
There are no good people within any part of the tech industry and yet AI is the line? Is it because that’s the worst evil in our industry or is it because this one is the most loud and inconvenient to us?

I mean, I use GoToSocial, people like Sharkey or Akkoma.
Who knows, maybe someone would prefer twitter for some reason.
Plain old Mastodon does seem the better option though

I think its really hard for something like the Linux kernel project to look at AI from an economic and environmental aspect that doesn’t start asking hard questions about Linux itself.
AI for instance runs very well on Linux and almost certainly all of these hyperscalers and compute centers are running Linux in some form.
If Linus is going to take a hard stance on economic and environmental reasons, is he also going to ban these orgs from using Linux?
I don’t really want to do too much “what about” isms because I think it would be hella based to see the defense industry, oil industry, and AI industries all get a “fuck you figure it out on your own”. I’m just saying I can completely understand why Linus might not want to play that game since his greatest concern is to simply make sure Linux is getting better.
No! But that would be much more interesting…
Did you hear they were working on horse races? I know quite antiquated, but they were adding horse TORCH races this time! How novel!

I’m shocked Gab is still around.
I used a spam email address to subscribe to that guys mailing list and every time I use that email to sign up for something sketchy, I see he’s still sending 3-9 emails a day with rants and updates.
You’d think owning a social media would entail cryptic ranting on the platform and not a mailing list
I mean… Usually the Forestry and Animal control folks have yo put down deer who will approach people anyways.
So…
I have been raw dogging epubs from Zlibrary, Annas, and libgen for years on public WiFi, student housing, work internet, my internet the most, but you name it.
Should I not do that? Though I’m not distributing which is usually what they give a shot about
