Today is my wife’s birthday, when she opened her gift it was a reMarkable Pro. So far we’re both impressed.
I’m impressed you were able to convert the Oreos! 😉
6’6" (247.5 Oreo Cookies for those of you who use that measurement). My wife is 5’1" tall.
When I was growing up my mom would always say “the tall girls are going to love you!” Every tall girl I ever asked out shot me down in flames.
Everywhere I went, there they were calling through the fields…
“Gavin!”
Wandering the streets…
“Gavin? Gav?”
I couldn’t even finish a game of dominoes without it being interrupted…
“GAVIN!”
Finally one fateful day, stopping me and asking, “have you seen Gavin? Do you know where he is?”
I’m a fan of capitalism, but not the kind of capitalism that decrees something is too big to fail and must be bailed out.
Honor Harrington or Safehold by David Weber.
My absolute favorite AC game. My wife just got me Sideshow’s Edward Animus statue for my birthday. It’s stunning.
I’m a sixty year old nerd. No one hires those.
However, thank you very much for the kindness of your post.
Today was one of those days for me.
She was on a team in Kentucky 6th through 8th grades. She’s starting her Freshman year in Iowa.
Her response is sadly always the same. “Dad! I’d get in trouble!”
My daughter is an archer. I have asked her this question many times.
Your worth, your value is not determined by what someone else makes.
Also, I’m a bit ignorant of this subject so forgive me if I get it wrong, but did he not go to school significantly longer for his MD than you did for yours?
I believe he also had to go through the hell that is residency, I didn’t believe nurses do.
If you’re envious of his salary, improve your skills, or your education. If you’re happy where you are at In life, then don’t let the fact that others make more than you interfere with that happiness.
No matter what you do, there will always be others who make more, one of those sad facts of life.
Boy THAT will work! Good idea government!
Very very aware.
So you had another mail server elsewhere that port forwarded port 25 via port 22 to your internal mail server’s port 25.
I take it that outside mail server was secure.
That’s an impressive setup.
Did you really only use it when you were home? If you used it outside the firewall then port 25 must have been open also.
I used to run my own server and this was in the early 90s. Then one day, perusing the logs I realized I was not smart enough on the security front to even attempt such a thing. It was quickly shut down and the MX record moved to an outsourced mail provider.
When you call the cops you’re calling people who can kill you with impunity and get a paid vacation for doing so. Just say no to calling the cops.
I always have Tony’s on hand. Fixes bland over and over again.
Yes I complete my census survey that seems like a valid function of government.
I do not register for a political party as I believe voting is an immoral act. I have no right to tell anyone how to live there life. If I were to vote for a candidate I would be indirectly telling others how they should live. If I were to vote for a ballot measure I would be directly telling others how they should live.
Someone recently challenged me on that stance and I’m revaluating it slightly. They asked if I would vote to restore a freedom that had been taken away. I haven’t fully wrestled with that yet, but I’m starting to think that I might should the situation occur.
It could well be.
I can’t stomach most King. My wife has every book he’s written.
That said, The Stand would be in my top 5 books ever. I’ve read it seven or eight times. 11-22-63 is also spectacular. I read it. Watched the Hulu mini-series and now am listening to the audio book.
