Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are there any unskilled, minimum-wage jobs that would leave me with some amount of free time every day?
1·18 days agoAnything in the public service sector. Usually they’re always short of people. Like garbage man (early mornings, but you’re off around 2-3pm (at least here about)). Or working for the city gardening department. Or driving (if you have a drivers license). Basically call or go to your local municipality and ask. Also universities have many jobs that need doing like ground keeping etc. Beat way to find out is to call and ask. You show that you’re a real person and want to work. Or you go to a job agency and talk to them. Working for the city or for a university also usually brings good perks like decent holidays or insurances - at least in Europe… good luck!

Thanks, I needed this 🤣🤣🤣
There’s actually pretty many to choose from.
Ones I’ve tried:
-
https://www.ecosia.org/ (🇩🇪) I’ve found this to work best for me
-
https://www.qwant.com/ (🇫🇷) also good, but I find the ads sometimes too distracting
-
https://www.startpage.com/ (🇳🇱) also good
others:
- https://www.mojeek.com/ (🇬🇧) if you like the brits… but really, who does?! 😅
- https://good-search.org/ (🇩🇪) interesting
- https://swisscows.com/ (🇨🇭) lol
Honestly, just switch your default search engine in your phone-settings and see what happens. After a while you don’t even realize you’re not using Google anymore. And if you’re not pleased with the search result (which I rarely am these days, using ecosia) see if Google gives a better answer. Mostly not. Happy experimenting! ;)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you ever feel "not enough" of a nationality, specifically people of multiple cultural influences?
2·5 months agoyou can be a multitude. you can feel 100% norwegian, 100% american and 100% german if it feels right to you. don’t ever think that you’re not “enough of a nationality”. nations are modern inventions- they shift, they come and go. how and what we identity with is complex and difficult- and that’s normal. try to go with your gut feeling - it’s usually right, even if your head won’t always understand it at first. tldr; don’t let others tell you you’re not enough, when in truth you’re probably more than them.
