Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Remote Play with specific emulator
2·19 days agoSorry for the delay, my instance seems to be having issues.
I believe both emulators (Cemu and Eden) are using Xwayland. As indicated by
xwininfo. (Also some github issue comments).I will try that launcher prefix and report back. Thank you!
Edit: the launcher prefix made no difference.

3·20 days agoI changed the setting under Graphics settings from “Exclusive fullscreen” to “Borderless window” which was the only other option. I did confirm the setting applied to the game as well. That didn’t work.
Then I removed the “-f” flag from the game shortcut in Steam. That also didn’t work, although it did open in a window on the host. But still no streaming.

9·22 days agoGroove Salad for me. Unless I’m updating production severs then I put on Drone Zone to lower my heart rate.

2·27 days agoWas wondering the same thing while I built mine over the last few weeks. I watched a ton of videos, but many are out of date on the software side. I mostly used the site that [email protected] linked to, which seems to cover most everything. e.g. you no longer need to flash the BIOS if all you want is dynamic memory allocation, there’s a userland utility now.
I printed my case, but there are some available for purchase on eBay and Etsy. Some 3D printing sites let you request models be printed to your specs.
Anyway, I’m happy with the build and the performance, but… This thing is loud, and given the limitations with power options (no sleep mode?) I’m still trying to figure out how to integrate it. If I could reliably power on and off remotely, I could stash it somewhere and use Steam Remote Play. But I’ve not had much luck yet.

1·27 days agoI managed to get mine for $150 USD shipped. $40 for PSU (provably overkill), $50 for fans and other miscellaneous parts, and about $25 for filament (with some leftovers). That’s under $300.

7·1 month agoFull email:
You are on the waitlist for Steam Machine 512GB
When we did the one-time randomization of the list, your place in line ended up beyond the number of units we’ll have in this production run.
As we work our way through the reservation queue, some customers may cancel their reservations. If that happens, you may be moved into the reservation queue, and you’ll be notified via email that you have a reservation after all.
This is the only email you will receive about the results of the randomization. If you ended up with a waitlist spot for one or more models, you’ll be placed on the waitlist for the model that you were closest to the front of.

13·1 month agoJust got my email. I’m on the waitlist, no date given.
Glad I got a BC250 to fiddle with. I know it’s not the same, but it still scratches an itch. Kinda worried that the Machine price may still go up in future production runs.
I trust you’re checking Is There Any Deal… Pragmata has had pretty consistent $10 off from other Steam key stores, including Fanatical right now.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•SteamOS 3.8 is supported for *all* PCs with discrete AMD GPUs
4·1 month agoFYI I don’t think you need to flash the BIOS for dynamic memory anymore, someone has figured out how to do it from inside Linux.
I used the links in the “Not always required” section of this page:

1·1 month agoHey can you share how you determined which/how many CUs to unlock? When I ran the health check script from the “40 CU unlock” repository it just gives me errors for missing files.
I used another script to just unlock them all and brief testing showed no obvious errors but I’d rather be thorough…

Don’t worry, if it doesnt, some other much worse *-pocalypse will make it all moot!

The only hope for a waitlisted loser like me is that they are moving people off the waitlist “when we reach the end of the reservation queue for that product and region.”
Meanwhile I get to watch every YouTuber getting one just to make ragebait videos about.
