ABS is also an important part of it. ABS itself doesn’t mandate ESP, that’s true. But the laws do.
It’s not THAT little associated cost. New ESP module for any 00s German car costs as much as the car itself at this point lol, around 2k.
That said, manufacturers get them for less than that.
