Just like with the majority foreign-owned fossil fuel industry in Alberta, ‘our’ Government will give money to foreign/US corporations and sell it to us (with no questions asked by mainstream media) as ‘sovereignty’. I don’t think that canzuk is a great example, since it’s not really opposed strongly by the other parties, and also it’s a free trade agreement and conservatives will agree to any free trade agreement with anyone; it’s not really especially anti-usa or uniquely conservative.
To be fair, Trudeau was adamantly against it because it weakened the US position but he was more right wing than typical Liberals so it doesn’t play into historic trends.
Yeah modern parties are only different in their social policy, not in their fiscal policies. It’s pretty crazy.
