Is it too much to ask for an option that doesn’t support Israels crimes? I mean I know we can’t have nice things in the US but still. Would be nice to not have to pick between two options that looooooove genocide

If people fail to vote, yes. Every time the Republicans are in power, they restrict the right to vote more and more. If you don’t vote, or encourage others not to vote, you support the goals of people who want you to not vote, which is to say fascists and authoritarians.
If I don’t vote I’m supporting those who enable the ratchet effect? But if i vote for the people who created and utilize the ratchet effect I’m not supporting it?
I have tried talking to people about this issue before, and a frequent response I get is “what’s aipac” or complete unawareness or concern for anything going on overseas. Some people just can’t be bothered to tune in to anything related to politics
It’s not too much to ask at all. Fight for it as hard as you can. But until you actually have that option in an election, you should vote for the (much) lesser evil.
No I dont think I will. The dems can earn the progressive vote or they can lose. Thats the deal for them. We’re not playing chicken either, it’s a promise. We made our choice already. Work for the people or we sit on the couch/vote third party. Its all up to the centrist Dems now. There will be no further negotiation.
Dem border control was as brutal as republicans. Tom Homan, the DHS guy appointed by Obama who put together policies to separate kids from their parents at the border got a presidential rank for distinguihsed service, the highest possible civilian honor , specifically for that policy, handed to him by Obama himself. And Harris and Biden both beat their chest about being tough about the border and not letting anyone in. Did you miss that?

And when democrats get back into power their ratchet effect prevents anything done by republicans from ever slipping back

Your mental gymnastics are in overdrive

Wouldnt it be nice if we could all be so oblivious.

Democrats are not lesser anything
They are though. Democrats don’t want to lynch queer or foreign looking people, for instance.
