From the outside it looks like it’s similar to turning a big ship in a way. It’s just taking time for it to turn; meaning enough to get sick of it. It’s definitely wrong now to say nothings being done by people, you’ve only got to look at the videos people are taking of the migration police to see there’s resistance flowing through.

This situation here is a clear abandonment of media responsibility. Journalists themselves, or their profession, will take the reputational fall for this and it won’t matter if that’s fair to them or not. The right kind of reporting on this would go a long way to driving resistance against it.

Yeah I hope the midterms are somehow fair and held. It’s the best solution. I hope people turn out for them too if they are. The more that do, the harder it should be to rig or prevent voting at the polling booths.

The people don’t pay the press. The oligarchs captured the press, and now when the press reports what concerns the people, the oligarchs punish them. Part of this started cos we stopped paying the press. This is why I have a couple of newspaper subscriptions. More people should, so we can pay the press to report what concerns us.

Well I pay for good press, but it needs to be good for me to pay for it.

I have a feeling that was happening with the press regardless of subscription, but you raise a point

“Well I pay for good press” <- does your use of the expression mean that you will only pay if you find good press, and are therefore not paying for press because you don’t find it up to your standards?

I don’t pay for it unless it’s up to my standards

Like anything else I decide to pay for or subscribe to

Yeah I just said I did

Yes I subscribe to a news source

Not that I agree with your point totally, I think subversion of news sources was inevitable anyway but yes, for what it’s worth I subscribe to a news source
