Virtual meetings give the person running the software way more power to censor participants than in-person meetings do. That’s the real reason they want this.

are they trying to trigger a stochaistic response?

we have representative democracy because it gives people power proportional to their passion for change.

unfortunately, we are in the era of oligpoly and the only thing with an effective political voice is money.

Honestly? I almost kinda believe they are, yes. Trigger some extreme response so they can use it as an excuse to do basically whatever they want. Which, of course, is ridiculous, cuz they’re gonna do whatever they want anyway.

Fucking asshats, the lot of them.

It is pretty fucking gross. They’re already mask-off, but they’re still kinda sorta acting like they’re not. It’s fucking insulting.

That’s the idea behind democracy. That is indeed why it works.

The representatives are a check on the will of the people from the aristocrats established interests and large institutions. Way to make sure they don’t get too egalitarian. This is literally what its for.

I do believe the lever isn’t strong enough here, and some part of it will break. They aren’t very smart. We have forgotten how to interface with reality. At best it’s a roll 0f the dice, at worst its Eddington.
