I cannot even get good numbers on how many washed (i.e. food grade) poppy seeds are needed to get you high.
Basically its well over a pound of poppy seeds.
I’m betting they banned them because it can confuse drug tests. They don’t want people to be able to use the excuse that they had an item with poppyseeds earlier that day and that’s why the drug test came back positive.

SINGAPORE – The authorities are investigating reports that a bagel seasoning containing poppy seeds, which are prohibited goods, is being sold in Singapore on online platforms.
The product from the US, called Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel, has poppy seeds listed among its ingredients.
A spokesperson for the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), in response to queries from The Straits Times, said on Aug 7 that it is investigating the reports and will take the necessary actions, including removing the items from sale.
Poppy seeds are classified as prohibited goods by CNB because they come from the opium poppy and can contain traces of controlled drugs, said the spokesperson.

Why the down-votes? Poppy seed tart is a well known desert in germanophone countries, they can’t be believing that banning poppy seeds will help in any way to fight crime or addiction?
