Donald Trump is leading a deeply corrupt, fascist administration that seeks to punish and imprison his enemies – big and small, real and perceived. The unpopular president and his team are laying the groundwork to try to steal the 2026 midterms, and they’re not even trying to hide it.

Democrats in Washington, meanwhile, are hyper-focused on… condemning a left-wing podcaster, Hasan Piker, and distorting his comments criticizing Zionists as a way to marginalize and block the rise of anti-Israel voices on the left.

With less than 10 weeks to go before the election, the opposition party is using this crucial time to demonstrate their continued fealty to Israel – despite its deep and growing political unpopularity in the U.S., its horrifying genocide in Gaza, and the ruinous Iran war that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dragged America’s idiot president into.

It makes me livid that the danger Hasan is pointing to is real and yet centrist Dems can’t even handle the subject being brought up without having performative meltdowns.

Hasan spent years being a figure of toxic masculinity and treating his audience like shit. He got rich off talking about other people’s accomplishments, refuses to willingly relinquish his wealth, and is currently riding better people’s coattails into political stardom.

At this point his fandom is a cult and you’re a sucker if you support him. Cut him out and let people doing the actual work like Mamdani and Al-Sayed go on without that leech.

I’d really recommend you look further into the charities and donations that Piker has supported in addition to his help in the campaigns of Mamdani and El-Sayed. He really pushed for door knocking and helped get them elected.

There’s a lot of factions that are working hard to push propaganda about Piker that should be looked at with a critical eye.

Can they not find a campaign supporter who isn’t a piece of shit human being? Do we really need to begin a new political revolution by falling into the same trap of politicians getting into bed with shitbags to get funding? This is how the DNC was captured.

We’ve all made bad statements and jokes in our youth and Hasan is no different. What are you basing this piece of shit human stuff on? I hope it’s not the false animal abuse stuff pushed by right wing reactionaries.

Like it or not, (and a lot of people don’t like it), Piker has a huge influence over young people on the left. He’s been able to mobilize his fans to help elect Dem Socialists across the board. That’s a positive thing in my view.

Yeah, piker has had his shit talking justified or not really come back to bite him. In a way previous generations struggle to understand. For them thousands of shitty, poorly thought out statements diffused into the air they were spoken. Never to be seen or heard again. If someone was upset with what you said, you must have been very adamant in saying it.

Now with social media, and everything you say or do being recorded. It can be held against you for posterity indefinitely. Every meaningless little brain fart or slip that would have amounted to nothing in the past. Can now be used to hang you. It’s going to take adjustment for both the older and the younger Generations.

The crazy thing is people could look at both issues validly but seem incapable.

Piker has a huge influence over young people on the left

This seems bad, not because of Piker but because we as a society keep buying into this myth of stoic individual leaders who see the truth and giving individuals outsized influence. Of course that isn’t what anyone brings up about Piker because it would also impact their favourite mouthpiece if people woke up to it.

He’s been able to mobilize his fans to help elect Dem Socialists across the board.

This is good. People are rallying behind a cause and toppling entrenched wealth for it. People do these absurd purity tests all the time like with Piker and forget the bigger picture or fail to think long term. No one will pass every purity test. Ever. People just need to recognize tackling the biggest issues and keeping momentum is important

I view it more as society as a whole doesn’t tackle that topic and so people fall in line with someone if that makes sense. No one is specifically giving him the influence.

It’s the very fact anyone can attract a large audience just by talking and become a celebrity that people follow

Ironic that we’re in the midst of a revival of Dune, with millions of people seeing it then going home and giving money to their own little lisan al-gaib without a scrap of self awareness.

Ok so you’re talking about being beholden to corporate interests, yeah?

The only way Piker is trying to influence the DNC is by holding them accountable to what they’re supposed to stand for and pull them back from how far the Overton window has shifted. That’s why he campaigns with Democratic Socialists.

Socialism isn’t about giving away wealth, but social ownership of the means of production (healthcare, grocery stores, public transportation, etc…) as opposed to private ownership of these industries. People can still accumulate wealth in socialist goverments.

I’m not trying to make any clever inferences here. I never heard the term before today but I do feel it fits the bill of “people who claim socialism but are okay with being rich”. Put into the same situation, I would feel extremely uncomfortable and find better places for the money than my own overflowing pockets.

You, don’t need role models to be a good person and will to learn from others.

Humans are social creatures and social learners. Regardless of what you believe, you will be influenced by the company you keep and the personalities you look up to. It’s important to manage those things, and it does you no good to be dismissive of them as if you emerged from the womb with everything you’d ever be already present in your DNA.

Human used to have horizontal relations only. Role models is vertical where we put some people on, the pedestal and start to ideolize them. The I do not believe in role models I believe we can learn from random people
