Some 35 years ago my 3rd grade teacher explained to us little Aussie battlers… That through history we have usually had a chance to observe what hasn’t worked in the US and improve our own implementation.

Certainly not always.
I think what that teacher was really getting at is things like electrical standards, phone networks, things like that.
And mandatory voting, and preferential voting, an independent electoral commission…
