A new study shows how wolf digestion in northern Minnesota helps accelerate the growth of blueberries, and may help spread their seeds across the landscape.
But they eat what’s available, and most of their prey isn’t out running around during the hottest days of the year, but they are likely to be in/around food sources like a blueberry bush.
If not, might as well eat some blueberries.
Vegetarian/carnivore isnt binary in nature tho. Animals specialize, but none of them are turning down a free meal. Deer, goats, cows, and pretty much every herbivore won’t hesitate to chomp down on a bird or a small rodent given a chance. Especially domestic livestock.
