Thomas Fahmy, who describes himself as a man of faith, said the experience has changed the way he looks at life.

Thomas Fahmy said he was walking along Todt Hill Road near Windsor Road last Thursday, just about 15 to 25 feet from his car, when he was struck [by lightning.]

      I don’t think so… it seems a fancy way of saying you smacked it really hard.

      Smote is the past tense form of the verb smite, which is most frequently used to mean “to strike sharply or heavily especially with the hand or with something held in the hand,” or “to kill or severely injure by striking in such a way.”

      It can also be used to describe hitting objects.
