The current cost of living crisis started because of the economic turmoil in COVID you refer to as “some lines stopped going up”. There have been other causes, but that was a huge chunk of it.

I admit I have a pretty juvenile understanding of economics. I meant the sewers still worked, the health care system mostly still worked even while overrun, trains still ran fine, food and supplies stabilised after the original panic-buying fuckup.
The fact that I personally didnt die was a bonus I’ll grant you that.
