    pants can be either. Some people claim pitch accent differentiates them, but I think it’s more often context. Generally, it’s better to skip the ambiguity IMO and say ジーンズ (jeans) or ズボン (pants) rather than パンツ (underpants)

      yeah. Americanisms creep into the language a lot. We also say “sassy” now more than “impertinent”
