Here in Kansas City we had to fight hard locally to get our streetcar and its two expansions because it would reduce some roads to one-lane for long periods of time, and drivers were more concerned with getting to their destination five minutes later than normal than tens of thousands of inner-city residents having quality transit.
It is 100% a culture war and one everyone should be fighting, even if you’re a motorist.
