Over 90% of those deaths are Americans.

I guess you are misunderstanding my intention here.

COVID is very much real. But people in this thread seem to believe there is some form of deliberate undercount of cases going on because our public health systems can’t deal with the number of infected.

Just because news outlets don’t report hourly updates on case numbers, infection rates and whatnot doesn’t mean that there is an international effort going on to conceal the true extend of the situation. It means that COVID cases have reached a level that is no longer relevant for everyday life.

As an airborne easily transmittable respiratory disease COVID isn’t going away. Just like Influenza. But 200 deaths linked to COVID per month worldwide? That’s a resounding success for our public health efforts!

Compare that to the number of people Influenza kills directly or indirectly and tell me with a straight face that COVID is some form of superdisease that governments are hiding the true extend of.

Not getting added to a registry for catching COVID anymore doesn’t mean there is no one monitoring the situation. It means that the overall spread is negligible enough that it doesn’t warrant tight controls.
