Jimmy Kimmel’s Interview with James Talarico

The interview with the democratic candidate for Texas Senate that allegedly made the FCC’s ass so sore they threatened to nuke Jimmy Kimmel from orbit so he showed it on youtube or some shit.

A pretty shit interview really. It was essentially mud slinging and bell ringing and clever ways to capitalize on the mudslinging. There was zero political content.

I’m on the fence as to whether or not this is just a new ‘studio wrestling’ version of politics. Some bizarre idiocracy-esque drama scripted for primetime TV to make you think they haven’t already picked the winner.

We’d all be better off if Gravy had been a better shot.

So i watched a little over half of it and so far I’m seeing zero mud slinging. You can’t call it mud slinging if you are stating facts. Seemed like a whatever interview (no clue why you consider it “shit”?) that was mostly about branding and messaging; though I would have liked to hear some statistics backing up some of his platform topics; but I think we are long past ever seeing that again in the post-truth era of politics.

What exactly are you expecting out of a politic interview in 2026?

Fun. I learned a thing or two about Texas politics, too.

Thanks for posting this. I’d been reminding myself to watch it.

A shit interview in a vacuum? Sure.

But consider the situation they were already placed in. I’m fine with mud-slinging as a counter to prior restraint.
