Uqsually I can’t open a god damn post without modified it a millions time. I can’t even use AI to fine tune my language (because English is not my first language).

Don’t expect all views to go unchallenged here, there are still rules here.
But yes, I found Reddit to be bad for censorship of opinions that the mods don’t like. I found this most egrarious when it came to shadow bans - no clarity at all why you may be banned from a community.
All social media suffer from this but it feels like Reddit has become very overtly protective of commercial interests over free speech and discourse. And on top of that they take ownership of your words and sell those to AI companies and google. Users make the content and Reddit exploit it for money and expect users to be grateful.
Bear in mind Lemmy is not a single platform - different servers and communities will have different rules and different expectations of behaviour from their users. So you may still be banned from certain communities. To a degree you have to just accept that.
I never had a problem with being banned on reddit and I don’t really here either.
I left reddit on my own accord with an account in good standing.
You generally get banned for any suggestion of violence no matter how facetious or sarcastic. For example I was banned once for telling someone to fix their bicycle they just had to ride along at a good pace and place a stick through their spokes (it was a really dumb question or something).
My guess is they don’t want bad data for the AI training going forward.
My only issue with Reddit banning me is that a lot of tech questions and discussions still happen there - and with a banned account it’s nigh impossible to take part in the discussion or message people about their question.

“The incident” is a real polite way of describing a coordinated harassment and cyberbullying campaign against an individual, but you seem like you’re being sincere so I’ll tell you I’m not that dude nor do I know them.
Welcome, as others said you can’t get universally banned here even if you can still get banned here or there. Also don’t mind the voting around here too much, there’s no persistent karma to worry about (even though one could theoretically calculate it up, you can track history).
Speaking of which, you can also see how others voted and a few other things. It’s an open system full of weird nerds so tools exist for all sorts of things.
Lastly, you will see a culture shift, the most unique of which is a strong tankie presence (2/3 of which is censored on World) but also other things. AI, as noted, is fairly negative (there are spaces for it, but be mindful of instance cultures). Honestly I think deepL and stuff is generally accepted, though? As are other more regular translation tools. I like your English though, honestly.
Thanks, I don’t care about karma anyway. Also, I think they limit who can open a post according to karma is pretty weird, which hinder participation from new members.

Just so ya know, unpopular opinions can still get you downvoted heavily, and some mods that don’t like what you say can remove comments or ban you from their communities. However, no single person can ban you from Lemmy or the Fediverse so you’ve got to go out of your way to piss off a lot of people to become persona non grata here.

It just seems to me (a person who use english as a second language) that the english of AI translation seems less broken lol.
But well … English is not my first language afterall, if the native speaker thinks it’s better not to use the translation, may be it is truly better.

Oh, there’s disagreements all the time, but the reality is, the fediverse is so vast and bot-free that one cannot stay angry for so long that it becomes poisonous.
You can get snippy with someone than find a different community where there’s something really funny or a fantastic music recommendation and the frustration just melts away.
As to AI, for me, it depends… Generative AI that is used to create a falsehood - like videos of police being attacked by protesters or political people saying things they did not… no thank you… AI videos made by creators who want to tell stories on a budget, like Gossip Goblin… the stories from the Second Cycle of Humanity… those are amazing.
