Thanks to u/[email protected] for turning me on to Ship of Harkinian. It’s my opinion after messing with it for a half hour that this is THE way to experience OoT again.

The OoT at home:
I’ve been running Ocarina when I can. I just completed the Water Temple. All I need now are the Fire and Shadow Medallions, then I can whack Ganondorf.
I don’t even have a Switch 2, and I’m not buying it just to be sold nostalgia I can already relive with stuff I’ve had for like 20 years. That said, I am running it on Gopher64 this time around.
I think video game remakes will be a thing long after millenials are gone, just like movie remakes. And I bet most of them will be disappointing, with the occasional faithful or even surpassing remake, just like with movies.
It would be cool to chart the distance in time between the original video game and all remakes. It’d be cool to see which games get evergreen remakes, and which go through unpopular periods before a renaissance. People will always remake the classics, but I bet most remakes will go in a cyclic fashion of cashing in on middle-aged nostalgia.
I specifically meant OoT. Just like you dont see Gilligan’s Isle remakes anymore.

Eh spin-offs but not remakes. Buttflix had something about a Hawaii remake or something but I dont think it ever saw light.
Oh, I see what you mean. I wonder when the last OoT remake will be. They just remade Nosferatu 100 years later. I could see it happening.
