Thanks to u/[email protected] for turning me on to Ship of Harkinian. It’s my opinion after messing with it for a half hour that this is THE way to experience OoT again.

The OoT at home:
I’ve been running Ocarina when I can. I just completed the Water Temple. All I need now are the Fire and Shadow Medallions, then I can whack Ganondorf.
I don’t even have a Switch 2, and I’m not buying it just to be sold nostalgia I can already relive with stuff I’ve had for like 20 years. That said, I am running it on Gopher64 this time around.
That’s not a remake, it’s a reboot. They’re starting from near the beginning of the timeline again, but it’s not the same story or same company. I’m genuinely excited from gameplay trailers.
Honestly Fable was getting a tad messy by the third game, starting over from scratch but using the original as a framework is probably the only way to do it. I feel like if Bethesda were to do a remake of any of the pre Morrowind games it’d be the same way, also I really wish they would remake Redguard because its such a cool game idea wrapped in a jank fest of an engine which funfact is technically 2d fucken Bethesda black magic.
