    As with so many things, you can trace it back to Ronald Reagan.

    Cronkite, Peter Jennings et al worked under a thing called ‘The Fairness Doctrine.’ Back when radio was first regulated, both Parties agreed that the public airwaves should remain neutral. No one person / company could own more than six radio stations [AM and FM] Any time there was an editorial, the station had to offer time for opposing views, and the stations had to broadcast news daily.

    Reagan had seen how that system had taken down Nixon, and swore it would be destroyed.

        That’s the great thing about knowing how great you are.

        Lying is completely justified if it’s in a good cause, and keeping the GOP in power is a sacred cause.

        When you worship death, that just comes as a matter of course. It’s like how kicking puppies doesn’t occur to you as an option
