Really curious where this goes. I support everybody’s right to self determination, which includes the Québécois, but also the Anishinaabeg, Inuit, and the many other Indigenous peoples currently living on those lands.
I think this becomes increasingly complex because Quebec sits on both unceded territory as well as treaty land, so separation would have to deal with the legal hurdles associated with both.
If Quebec separates, they don’t get from Val d’Or north, or the outauais valley. That was determined years ago.
Outauais becomes federal land or part of Ontario. And the north part becomes a new territory, as its pre-confederation land.
