Buy a cat. In my area most people are dog people and it’s been my experience that dog people are VEHEMENTLY dog people. The mere presence of a feline in your house will send them into fits.

That’s one plus of giant breeds. Even if they’re the sweetest, goofiest good boys, an intruder will take one look and nope off.
Hey, if there’s barking when someone is trying to enter the home, it’s good defense.
Or shouting and hiding under a table. Also had a dog once who persisted on giving people his toys, would’ve been interesting how that’d play out.
