BTS will not submit music for the 69th Grammy Awards. The K-pop group declined to join after the Recording Academy added a new Asian pop music category.
Yeah, IIRC they did this with latino artists as well, so they can avoid giving them major awards. Their criteria is bullshit too, something like 99% of lyrics shouldn’t be english. So if an asian artist has a big hit but it’s a song in english, then they aren’t eligible.

An argument could be made for many of their categories - keeping eligibility for the biggest award categories to the industry darlings.
