A nearby school has just finished construction and is planning to open next week. However, it’s already been struck multiple times by bullets escaping a shooting range a mile or so away. They’ve released notices telling people to avoid one side of the building due to the stray bullets and adjusted activities to the late evening when the range is closed.

After asking the range to improve it’s quality so that this doesn’t happen, the shooting range apparently told them to pound sand. Now there’s a big lawsuit trying to force this shooting range to actually stop the bullets being fired so they don’t kill children because they refuse to do anything.

No, they need to stop the rounds within their boundary. Who else is in danger because of this, it won’t be just the school.

Having stray rounds frequently leaving their premises is totally unacceptable, and they need to cease operating until the problem is solved.

The shooting range has been there since 1980 - congratulations on being dead wrong.

It hasn’t been an issue before this, it wouldn’t have been an issue if they hadn’t put a school downrange.

So they’ve been doing dodgy shit since then, that’s not a defence. They need to stop discharging fucking projectiles from their property.

This isn’t a noise problem, where “I was here first” is a legitimate defence. The range needs to cease operating until they can find a solution.

Lol just because this the first you’ve heard of it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist as a problem prior. Bullets leaving the range is a massive issue whether there’s a school or an empty field.
