How do you disapprove of a guy trying to improve your life? I’m guessing the other 30% are a combination of rich assholes and dumb rednecks who know literally nothing about him?
here’s a map from a few weeks ago of Mamdani’s approval ratings. All the wealthy areas have red dissapproval ratings. Something I like to note is the red rectangle just off Central Park is Epstein Alley, the area where the richest assholes own property.
Manhattan is almsot all green except for a sliver on 5th Avenue near Central Park. That’s the priciest area. Most of the rest of the borough is pretty pricey. even Harlem apartments are getting expensive, now that it’s being gentrified.
Most of the red areas aren’t particularly pricey and certainly aren’t considered high class or exclusive.
The bright red area all the way at the bottom left is the South Shore of Staten Island.
I once met a woman who taught Art History at Staten Island College. She told me that many of her students had never made the trip into Manhattan to visit the Metropolitan Museum, one of the top museums in the world.
Look for and listen to the Revisionist History: The Staten Island Problem podcast series. It’s really interesting and even points out how Wu Tang Clan rose from that weird island. Plus it seems to have foretold our current stupid politics to a degree.
For additional context, it’s maybe an hour trip by train feom SI (including a fun ferry ride) and admission is free for Ny’ers at The Met. (Natural history museum too!)
That really red area under the mouse cursor is… Borough Park? Super conservative Jewish area? Or maybe bensonhurst? I live here but am apparently bad at maps.
Yeah, that’s Borough Park, famous for the Orthodox Jewish community doing stuff like diverting public education funds towards private religious schools or having a private bus system that used to require women to sit in the back until an investigation in 2011.
The small red area just northeast is Crown Heights, famous for the hilarious synagogue tunnel story back in 2024. Basically, that area has some very pro-Zionist areas.
It’s all the outskirts except for central Manhattan and surprisingly Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which I thought was part of the Commie Corridor. Flushing is expected considering many first generation Asians are conservative (read: racist) and prefer to vote for the white man.
As an intelligent Redneck I appreciate the modifier of stupid for my dumbfuck kin. Some of us stick to the old ways and wish to watch the corpos burn, but well we are fleeting nowadays. Though funny enough a lot of people outside the Redneck culture don’t recognize me as Redneck and peg me for the alternative title of American-Scot due to the fact I don’t fit most stereotypes, other Rednecks will look at me for five fucking seconds and proclaim kinship.
Well yeah, redneck is just a word i use to describe people like my uncle who went out at 7am in his tighty-whities with cowboy boots on to feed the horses. Still love the guy, but that shits embarrassing.
Like if it’s on his property does he really need pants on? Like the only embarrassing thing I’m hearing is that he wears tightly whities and not boxer briefs.
So just the other day I learned where the term redneck came from and I think you may want to go read about it because we are all misappropriating a term originally meant for class/labor solidarity with that of white trash that fuck their siblings and have a combined IQ that if it were an age not high enough to vote.
I grew up with white trash rednecks. Lived with them too. I don’t care what the original definition is. Language changes, and it isn’t being used that way anymore.

The lower the density of housing, the lower the favorability… Interesting

There is an Orthodox Jewish part of williamsburg
I wouldn’t call Staten Island a wealthy area. Far from it. They’re just maga.

I mean, I guess not, and they lived 2 miles from the nearest house. It’s still a weird thing to do that we tease him about to this day.
He should have gotten dressed if you were visiting.
They know he’s a Muslim, sadly enough that’s enough for many
