Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. All of the TOS movies have great soundtracks, but The Voyage Home’s score stands out among them. Just that title track, that plays over a flat shot of the fore credits over a starry sky, is this high energy, multi-movement overture that’s more exciting than all Star Trek media made after 2008. We used to have potential as a species.

Flashdance, of 1983. To quote Todd In The Shadows, “What most people remember about that movie is water, then Maniac right after that, and then about six hours of boring, and then What A Feeling.”
