As many people have pointed out, Bombardier already does build in the US. They have some form of operations in 20 US states and a supplier network covering 47, and the company estimates it supports tens of thousands of American jobs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they complied, they basically moved people to Dubai to sell them planes in the early oughts.

They put outs into that agreement. Reviewing it every 5 years and final say on any trade agreement made with countries not in the agreement.

Canada’s China deal needs US approval to keep us in CUSMA.

This is reminiscent to how the Airbus A220 came to be. Boeing got all pissy about Bombardier selling their new narrow-body CSeries for cheaper than the 737 and lobbied the government to block the sale, arguing the industry could be threatened.

Canada and Mexico should coordinate to expel the US car companies at the same time. This won’t happen because a lot of people would suddenly become unemployed, though.

We should make a community of people who work together to make new cars to sell to the capitalist hell scape we are in, Canada and Mexico can work with a social frame work towards vehicle manufacturing. There is a word for that, an -ism of some sort, kinda like our healthcare system now what could that word be?

Anyone who denies this is anything less than a trade war is someone who fantasizes about bullies.

Huh, as a Canadian I thought Bombardier just fucked us over on trains and streetcars, I didn’t know they made planes sometimes too! 😛
