I had the unfortunate experience of knowing a sociopath, and he exhibited the same characteristic. 99% of humans only value was what they could do for him and those who had power over him he fawned over in an embarrassing un self awareness.

That’s because orange donny wants to be emperor of the western hemisphere while pootin wants to be emperor of the eastern hemisphere.

Did anyone think donny and pootin were no longer friends? After pootin put donny in the white house twice and is working on his third term now?

    Seriously?

These weasels are working from the “oil” angle. They’re not all that bright. Crafty motherfuckers one and all, but intelligent? Xi most of all - but again - way too crafty.

It’s the goddam oil thing again. Saudis have run out, it seems burning billions of barrels of oil during gulf wars (setting wells on fire for one) has caused quite a few of the dessert tribes to go hunting for oil elsewhere (the gulf - via … ah, I won’t go into it with you but putin, trump and the saudis are in on “capturing” the gulf’s oil - drilling unregulated - which will turn the gulf into a fucking oil rag and wipe out the gulf coast for “human” use. (or food)

But… Iran still has some. As do several other countries. We do. Canada does. Alaska does. I assume Greenland does also. Drill baby drill - the words of a pack of fucking lunatics bent on self profit at the expense of the planet.

Human monkey greed and the unreal tendency to follow the loudest monkey - much like lemmings following the leader - and here we are, as close to being a failed species as any dinosaur.

I think you are confused. Trump speaks for the wealthy. As AOTUS he has broken more laws to enrich himself then anyone could have ever fathomed. It would be comical due to the openess if it wasn’t also criminal. This is not a representative of the people and people should be ashamed for suggesting he is.

There is no one to speak for the people. You have the Senate which is captured by the wealthy as designed from the start, you have the two-tierd judicial branch which is also captured by the wealthy, and you have the executive branch which is, of course, captured by the wealthy.

That just leaves Congress who in theory should represent the people but they have been bought off by the wealthy as well. That leaves the people with zero voice.

Oh only smooth brain Dems and memory holed liberals would take that for sarcasm.

It was a subject of intense debate during the Obama administration, and like every thing this current administration takes for granted in their authoritarian sweep, the basic infrastructure for those actions was installed by under Democratic administrations, or at least neoliberal/ administrations.

This was the debate we were having, and liberals of the time were largely fine with the role of the presidency, because it was there team in charge. I strongly recommend this old episode because exactly this problem was being discussed almost 15 years ago. And if you don’t have a problem with it when it’s a Democrat doing it, you don’t have a problem with it.

Intelligence Squared debate: ## Has The President Usurped The Constitutional Power Of Congress?

Even if you disagree and you think Trump is a mushroom that popped out of the soil in the night, you should watch or listen to the above debate.

Except that not only is that the antithesis of how a federal system works but do you really think that all the tribes support this just as one for instance? Being a tribal member I can just tell you that we don’t and he has been trying to undo our citizenship since day one because of it. What about all the places in the US that can’t vote for the president? I’m not totally sure you understand what the word nuanced actually means.

that not only is that the antithesis of how a federal system works

What in the world are you talking about? Every leader of every region in the world represents their people, regardless of what any of those people think of them. That’s why they’re called “representatives”. That’s exactly how that works.

President Xi doesn’t come to the US and meet with Barack Obama, because he doesn’t represent America, and can’t make decisions for them.

What in the world are you talking about? You seem to be completely forgetting how many times state governors meet with world leaders just like the leader of Germany would.

Would you say that Gavin Newsom doesn’t represent California because Trump exists?

The federal system is literally designed such that the head of the EU isn’t the only person representing interests in the EU and the US is exactly the same way. To say that Trump represents the whole of the US is a childish oversimplification at best.

I didn’t vote for, nor do I support trump. Therefore. Your “facts” are already wrong as ALL of America is only represented by the entirely of it. And while I live here, I am represented.

And in the event that my omission alone is not enough of an example for you to understand that some ≠ all, by my math, roughly 272,358,341 people of the 349,660,921 citizens in this county didn’t vote for him either.

So maybe you should start the process of changing your “facts” to fit reality.

        Twice. Fucking TWICE!

And since the first time that bag of rancid gonorrhoea was elected there’s been:
        An insurrection.
A bunch of court cases that ended with convicted felonies.
A successful rape trial, and payout.
A raid because a lorry load of top secret documents were stolen… AND then stored in an unlocked room next to a fax machine. A FUCKING FAX MACHINE.
A blatant attempt to flood a server area which held the CCTV footage.
A confession about showing said documents to a journalist (I think), plus other people.

And those are just the bullet points I can quickly think of of easily proven corruption and illegality. But there’s more. So much more.
So, yeah, if a country elects a disgusting thing like that again and again then I’m believing it’s what they want.

The so called American experiment is over. The result proved to be no different. The nature of humanity is perpetually fighting for freedoms.

Their superpower was not their military or their economy. It was the mythology that they were exceptional people and the modern exemplar of democracy. For a while much of the world was to believing too.

Canada’s PM Carney said it well. The world put up with them out of convenience.

The Americans took that tolerance as a compliment on their brash attitude. They couldn’t adapt when reality diverged from the mythology. Half of them are coping by following the traitor into oblivion. Half of them are insistent reality will return to their mythological storyline.

The real news is the rot that exists in the US exists in every country. You can point, cry, rage, etc all you want about the US but it is coming to your country unless you have policies in place to reverse the wealth gap.

“Western order” to me means Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, East Timor, Iraq, Afghanistan, colonialism, the silent holocaust (the one in guatemala), Guantanamo bay, Pinochet, the genocide in Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Iran, etc. The author mentions “western order” as though it’s a good thing. It’s not. Not saying we should all ally with Putin, but I really don’t consider what we, the west, have done to the world a good thing.

Republicans have been favoring Russia for well over a decade and more like 15 years at this point. That’s another line Democrats really haven’t crossed.

It’s not an American thing, it’s a Republican thing, and Republicans are not America, although they represent around half.

That said, Russia is fighting Cold War II and we’re not even aware, so they are wildly winning. Much moreso than in Ukraine, an actual “hot” war.

Conservatives see the current liberal democratic world order and think it’s a degenerate failure of civilization. Many reasons for this but it can be summed up as “racism and culture war bullshit.”

They will literally side with Russia to destroy it if they are given an opportunity.

Edit: It is my uneducated prediction that we will provide to Russia: military intelligence within the next few months, raw materials and/or dual-use tech in Q1-Q2 2027, and major weapons systems by the end of 2027.
