No. I typed it with my own thumbs, from my own mind.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's stopping you from registering for a socialist/dem-socialist political party?English
24·13 hours agoBest start believing. Politics directly affects literally every single aspect of your day-to-day life whether you believe in it or not.
You used to have master and slave processes too until it was changed to parent and child
Yeah, I’ve heard. I’ve always associated the terms with dom/sub play, not slavery.
I get the reasoning as to why, but it seems odd to me that the IT terms were fixated on, but not the engineering terms; “master” and “slave” are still the accepted terms in the context of hydraulic systems, for example.
It’s also generally accepted that “retard” and “retarded” are generally acceptable terms when used in an engineering context. If we can accept that some terms are accepted in the a technical context, it seems inconsistent not to apply the same thinking to IT terminology.
Just more stuff to keep us bickering with each other so we don’t look up and realize where all the real problems are coming from, imo.
Skate videos popularized the use of the fish eye lens. Music videos had people waving their hands around in the face of the camera because it looks cool through that lens. The idea was applied to still images, and this is the result.
“Ey gurl, don’t act like you ain’t see my pull request. Lemme deep scan dem packets.”
Don’t forget all the master/slave terminology
a reference to bootlegging alcohol
Kinda, sorta. “Mountain dew” is a euphemism for moonshine in the southern US.
The definition of “bootlegging” varies by who you ask. Some say it’s any kind of unregulated activity related to alcohol, which can include brewing; some insist it only refers to the smuggling or transport of the finished product.
So, depending on which definition of “bootlegging” you subscribe to, it may refer to that. But “mountain dew” means “moonshine” because most people who make it live in the Appalachian mountains
“It’ll tickle your innards!”

9·16 hours agoYou’re just jealous because I’ve been online talking to hot babes all. day.
Things rapidly get larger then smaller, back and forth. For me, my vision would also sometimes do this thing where I’d have both eyes open, but it would look like I was winking one, then the other, back and forth really fast.
I also liked how even a little dxm would enhance weed like crazy.
It got to where I couldn’t keep any liquid dxm down at all and I hated polystirex so robitussin in the blue bottle was the only thing that worked for me. Eventually I got tired of swallowing entire bottles of big, dry pills so I retired from it permanently.
