It has become impossible to tell managers mesmerised by artificial intelligence that the tools are not, in fact, helpful. So employees just play along with the fiction to keep their jobs, writes our tech columnist
Edit: Sorry for my very late response. I tend to take long breaks from social media on a whim. Doesn’t help me try and get my point across one bit.
I admit my comment was stupid.
I tend to react without thinking quite a lot.
But I stand by my initial statement, that he’s an industry plant, with the goal being to distract from the real danger of AI. I’ve read a lot of his blog and it’s become quite clear that he is a Zionist. He’s an Ashkenazi Jew same as Net and Yahoo. I see no statements of him condemning the genocide in Gaza, or any of Israel’s atrocities. Just look st some of the biggest investors in AI and you’d be hard pressed to find to find any that aren’t linked to Zionists in some form or fashion.
When confronted with the topic on a podcast (TWiT), all he said was “I don’t like what they’re doing in my name”. What does that even mean? Highly ambiguous. I might have the clip somewhere hear on my phone but it would take some time to find it. On the same podcast but probably different episode, he mentioned his Burning Man attendance and where many tech billionaires frequent as well. I most certainly didn’t clip that and finding it amongst their massive archive would take days if it hasn’t already been edited out, which they are known to do as of late. Leo Laporte (the host and founder) has zero control over anything these days on his network including his own mind. He’s been AI brainwashed by his guests and his manager / wife who is a narcissist of the highest order. Deep down he is a kind and humble person. It has been utterly heart breaking to listen to these days. I was an avid listener form it’s creation and especially during the 2008 to 2012 period. I’ve also listened to all his other podcasts during those days which are many. TWiT is by far the most important tech podcast of all time even though it’s fallen off in the post AI era. To find the most reprehensible tech pundits, all you have to do is listen / watch TWiT lately. Even more so his other podcast “Intelligent Machines” co hosted by the absolutely abhorrent Jeff Jarvis (former people magazine writer and long time Howard Stern friend). He is just gross. I literally slam my fist into the floor listening to him talk and the way he treats Leo.
What I find the most interesting is that Doctorow started making frequent appearances on the podcast I keep referencing, This Week in Tech (TWiT), after John Perry Barlow died, who was the original founder (he came up with the idea and others latched on) of the EFF. He was probably one of the most benevolent tech guys in the industry. His charitable work is astounding. Guess who was also a not so frequent guest on the show before Doctorow started showing up? John Perry Barlow! Remember Leo does not choose who his guests are, it’s all controlled by his wife. She is essentially his handler. Narcissist tend to always end up turning their target into themselves, it’s called mirroring. Making themselves appear benevolent and their victim appear malevolent.
Barlows article title “Africa Rising: Everything You Know About Africa Is Wrong” sounds eerily similar to Doctorow’s article on this post.
All Doctorow did for the EFF is write a fictional story or two and make general supportive statements like “I support digital privacy” or “I’m a supporter and user of TOR”. The EFF is nothing more than a paper tiger and their Wikipedia article is biased (see the latest internet archive court case section).
