“Sylvia Driskell’s lawsuit was dismissed just five days after she filed it in May 2015. U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard ruled that the case lacked standing, federal jurisdiction, and a specific request for legal relief, stating that a federal court is not a forum for theological debate. The judge also denied Driskell the right to amend her complaint, declaring such an attempt would be futile”.
DuckDuckGo.
What are the charges? Eating a dick?
A succulent Chinese dick?
“Get your hand off my penis!”
I see you know your judo well.
My favorite move is “monkey steals the peach”
This is dick mockery manifest
I could say that I never understood how people could have so much hatred for other people who loved the “wrong” people but we all know its mostly religion, any religion
All religions are about hate because thats how you control your masses.
This woman, guaranteed, is a bible thumping trump voter too. She, in the end, is a victim too and I would feel for her if she wasn’t so full of hate and vile. Its too late to save someone from that hatred at that age.
Fuck all religions
Not all religions. It’s mainly a monotheistic thing, and there are like three of them, with varying levels of intolerance.
It’s not just religion unfortunately, it’s “us” (our way) vs “them” (anyone doing anything different) They take anything different as an direct attack against themselves. Honestly idk how they have so much energy to spend on hate
Cause they don’t do anything else, how many have you seen that are actually accomplished?
Yeah…

Gay people are doing literally nothing to interact with you or force their gayness on you.
You, on the other hand, took time out of your busy day to complain about them in a way that makes it known to A LOOOT of people that you dislike them and have problems with them.
That’s called spreading hate.
And spreading hate is
the
entire
problem.
the excretory organ
You’re so smart and mature for using such big words, definitely not vile and hateful.
Fucking boomers.
Standing? What harm has befallen you due to the existence of gay people? I think I’d watch this argument if it were a TV courtroom drama. Would be fascinating to see the plaintiff’s lawyer try to argue this.
“Your honor. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. The existence of gay people has caused my client irreparable emotional distress. The constant thoughts of gay sex have plagued my client since adolescence. Thinking of men sucking other men’s dicks. Women grinding pelvises together. Anal sex. Strap-on sex. Beards rubbing together in passionate moments. Boobies touching boobies. That’s all my client has been able to think about since they learned of gay people when they were 12 at Bible camp.”
I didn’t know Pete Hegseth was 66.
Even the ones who haven’t come out yet?
I told you guys the hurricanes were a bad idea
This is what happens when Boomers retire; they have too much money and now also the time to do all of this BS lol
We gave them additional stop signs but that was never the real goal. Just practice navigating the system!
The whole 2015 article:
Sylvia Driskell, a 66-year-old woman from Auburn, Nebraska, filed a federal lawsuit last week titled Driskell v. Homosexuals. Driskell, acting as her own lawyer and the ambassador of “God, And His, Son Jesus Christ,” would like the District Court in Omaha to determine whether being gay is a sin. She did not cite any previous court cases in her petition, which is seven pages long and written in cursive, instead relying on the consul of Merriam-Webster and the Bible. Driskell asks, “Why are judges passing laws, so sinners can break religious, and moral laws. Will all the judges of this Nation, judge God to be a lier [sic].”
The civil-rights case has been assigned to Judge John M. Gerrard, and no summons have been issued. Many people around the country have been surprised to learn that they were being sued by some person they had never met in Nebraska.
Man, I hope I get deposed

Someone give this woman a bible:
Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.
God also said, don’t be a cunt. So…
Thankfully I think the gays are off the hook for this crime
https://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/nebraska/nedce/8:2015cv00158/69317/5
The plaintiff’s complaint (filing 1) names “Homosexuals” as the defendants, and consists of seven pages of her personal and religious views on the subject of homosexuality.
Lmao
my favorite part is where they explain that for her to claim that this is under the jurisdiction of a federal court, she would have to prove that there are no gay people who are citizens of the state of Nebraska
Possibly true. If neither she nor the judge are.
if I understand correctly, it’s actually because she is. it explains that in order for a civil case to be under the jurisdiction of a federal court (and a civil case must be what she’s attempting, since she doesn’t cite any federal law to allege that the defendants have broken it), none of the plaintiffs can be citizens of the same state as any of the defendants. otherwise, presumably, it would fall under the jurisdiction of whichever state both parties are citizens of. so because both she and some gay people are Nebraskans, the case would have to be handled by a Nebraska state court, not a federal court
I was making a joke about there being like two people in Nebraska and here you are vomiting up law larp at me.
oh, yeah I didn’t get that at all. good premise though, sounds like it woulda been funny
as a Catholic, what
as a Catholic
Why?
Why not? Let people do what they want. Catholicism has its issues but it’s nowhere close to whatever the fuck american protestants or the other three billion denominations they came up with are doing.
I’m not forbidding anything. Just curious. People often ask me why I’m an atheist, but most find it really odd or get defensive when I ask them back. I don’t know why. It’s easier to not believe. All the few answers I’ve got for faith have been wildly different.
I am catholic but pretty much only by the fact I am baptised and sometimes go to church (easter, christmas) but I am mostly just agnostic. Could not give a fuck about god.
Jesus Christ appointed Peter as the rock of his church (literally Cephas, meaning rock) and he told him to “feed my sheep”. And he gave him the keys to heaven. (Why I chose Catholicism)
We have a lot of historical and philosophical proof for the existence of Jesus Christ and his divinity, and a lot of proven miracles as well. (Why I have faith in Christ)
And don’t forget the Bible was made up by a bunch of illiterate men who could barely read or write, basically playing the game of telephone with all the stories written in the Bible. Oh and a great way to control the masses is to make it a death cult, so you can do whatever you want on life, and as long as you “repent” you’ll get into a perfect place with perfect people
repenting involves hating your sin and turning away from it
I’m a atheist, raised catholic.
I agree religion is a bullshit method of control. But — Repenting isn’t so easy, it’s not only saying you’re sorry for everything. You’ve gotta repent so hard you feel it in your soul, like it’s gotta be physically and spiritually painful. You have to make God Himself believe you. And you have to be willing to accept any just punishment in return.
So you chose it? I think you’re the first Catholic convert I’ve met. And it was hearing / reading the recruitment of Peter that was the turning point? Was it something that resonated with you or was it something else?
Yeah, I chose Catholicism.
and Peter being given the keys to heaven and being the first Pope is undeniable proof of catholicism
I’m struggling to find anything that confirms Peter was a real person.
If you just swallow the sacred history of the RCC and run with ‘maybe the bible is true’ but that works with loads of religions.
You surely can’t be reading the Book of Acts as history?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Peter
all historical evidence suggests that Peter existed
I remember this, it’s the first time I’ve read a legal document and burst out laughing
For being so fabulous?

Oh. OH I thought it was because of that night fifteen years ago. I normally wouldn’t go for a lady that old or that particular kind of insane, but I was a little completely wasted.
Are you stalking me?
No, but that’s not a very reassuring thing to say, is it?
I mean you can put in your case whatever the fuck you want, which just means it gets thrown out.
Me versus all people named Agatha? No problem.
Protected Class Action Lawsuit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touched_by_an_Angel
This used to hit, if you were either stoned or just sitting, exhausted in the emergency room, waiting for news. Philosophy class was an excellent chaser for either situation
Someone sued God!? You really need to be high to not get angry about it
Wish we could sue churches that try to interfere with the fuckers who tax me.
We should pursue problems against bad actors
I guess I just resent being taxed by a church. I’m not religious, I shouldn’t have to tithe.
Kirk Cameron is gonna be the prosecution in the movie version on this…
