This one frustrates me for other reasons too. If you knew-jerk to calling everything AI, you aren’t actually trying to determine if it was an artist making it or if it’s generated, which only makes you worse at detecting the differences between them.
I will sometimes stare at an image for 30+ seconds just to try and find which way I think I lean. If I’m not sure, I don’t call it out, but remain skeptical. We should always be trying to be vigilant and never just accept “that looks weird” as being “that’s AI”. There’s also always the chance it’s a real photo depending on context no matter how weird.
