Seriously why? How did a community of supposed leftists become taken over by AI sloppers on the order and instigation of the Epstein class? Why are people who supposedly are leftist willing to accept this garbage and not fight back against it? These people could be our greatest allies in the fight against fascism but they choose to drink up AI slop like it’s the fucking holy grail!

I thought db0 was specifically anarchist and not leftist.

Regardless, in my observation, being pro/anti slop is more based on humanist ideals rather than political ones.

You either use it because you think it’s a net good for humanity or are against it because of all the costs to humanity.

Probably because the owner actually has an AI service.

Although I can’t say for all of the community, their AI horde is pretty great compared to big AI companies. They are volunteer run, so there’s no monetary incentive to provide your compute power. You’re literally giving your electricity so that someone else can generate stuff.

Aside from running locally, I think it’s the most ethical way to run AI. Of course it doesn’t fix all the remaining problems, and compute power could be spent in better ways, but I still say that, even as an anti-ai, it’s a good thing to have better alternatives than just big bad corporations

Ps: spent so long on this message that op got banned before I finished :/ Even as antis, you should always look at what is actually working on the other side, as if you refuse any arguments because “pro-ai” it makes you just an hypocrite and not worth listening.

Can you provide some context, in particular how is it worse there than other instances that probably all struggle to moderate the slop?

For info, dbzero is a pro-ai instance. It’s not that they struggle to moderate it, they just accept it. Which is bound to happen on the fediverse. See my other comment for more info

Check OP post / comment history - it’s a rage/troll/weird account. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was deliberately trying to make any/all AI scepticism look infantile and fanatical.
